SET FREE GAINESVILLE

Set Free Gainesville is a long term residential ministry designed to help men and women who are having problems coping with life crisis. This can include, but is not limited to, drug addiction, alcoholism, homelessness,and a lack of purpose and direction in life.
We are here to help people rebuild their lives by giving them the opportunity to make Christ the head of their lives. We also seek to teach them the discipline they need when they are faced with everyday temptations; to make the right decisions instead of the easy and wrong ones.

We teach people how to be disciplined so they may learn how to become the person whom God intended them to be.
This is accomplished by using the principals God has shown us in the bible and by being good examples of what it means to be like JESUS.

We allow the individual to live in a protected enviornment, away from the daily temptations on the streets, so they can become rooted in the Word of God, learn who they are in Christ and develop positive habits.
We show them by example, how to have a necessary one-on-one relationship that they need in order to live a victorious life in Christ.

The ministry is comprised of three phases that build on each other into a comprehensive whole. All of the phases are fully supervised, live-in residences. The following is a brief description of the phases.
Phase I - THE FARM
It's not a real farm as such, no cows, goats or chickens, but we do think of it as the place where the Word of God, His seed, is planted.
The farm is designed to assist those who are "sick and tired of being sick and tired". For those who struggle with substance abuse, or feel like their life is out of control, it allows them the opportunity to seperate themselves from their old lives and begin to focus their attention on God.
The length of this phase will vary with each individual. The schedule for this phase includes daily work, bible study, and memory verse classes.
Phase II - DISCIPLESHIP
Discipleship is a continuation of what started on the farm, where Bible study, group meetings, fellowship, worship, ministry,food and housing are provided. A transition toward mainstream life begins here. People have the opportunity to learn to minister, work on job skills, secure I.D. and continue their education.
Phase III - WORK STATUS
It is during Phase III that you can become eligible to go into the surrounding community and seek employment. You will still be expected to participate in church services and bible studies, continue to live here and save up enough to move out on your own. After all this time studing God's Word and being clean we pray that you will have a better life rooted and grounded in God.
